November 7, 2017 Adventurers Club General Meeting

Marsha Soroka called the meeting to order at 4:45 P.M. She said that the meeting would run longer than usual because there was a great deal of business to handle. She welcomed everyone and had the new members introduce themselves. Members need to attend three meetings and three events in order to remain in the club. If you cancel an event you signed up for within one week, you will not be charged for that event. You should bring your social calendars to all meetings. Our new web mistress, Patrizia, was introduced. She used visuals to explain how to access our web site. All club information can be found there. Her business card was handed out so that she could be called if members had any questions. While flyers can be printed from the web site, flyers will be printed and handed out at each month’s meetings. The meeting was then turned over to Claire Taylor and Richard Seiden so that current events could be discussed. Rhea Rosenfeld talked about the “Make Your Own Pizza Party” event on Saturday, Nov 18th. The cost is $25.00 pp and includes pizza, soup or salad, one glass of wine, garlic knots & dessert. Sue Kotkin discussed the “Gallery 22” event on Sunday, Nov 19th. Yakov Heller, acclaimed artist, sculpture and jewelry designer, will give a tour of the garden and gallery. This is a free event and includes wine, cheese and soft drinks. If you sign up but do not attend you will be charged $10.00. Marsha Soroka talked about “Flower Arranging at the Field of Flowers” on Monday, Dec 4th. The cost of $40.00 pp includes flowers, instructions, wine and cheese. There is a 25-person maximum for this event. Claire Taylor discussed “Boca Black Box Comedy Club” starring Nick Griffin on Saturday, Dec. 9th. She has purchased 40 tickets for this event and the cost is $30.00 pp. Loretta Iamunno talked about the “The Broward Partnership” event on Wednesday, Dec 13th. This is an opportunity to visit an amazing homeless shelter where several of our member’s volunteer. The cost of $12.00 pp includes tour and lunch. Ronni Ratsprecher discussed “The Adventurers’ Club Annual Picnic” on Sunday, Jan 7th. The $24.00 pp includes fun and games for all, coffee, soft drinks, munchkins and lunch catered by Too Jays Restaurant. Prizes will be given out as well. There is an additional $1.50 per person parking fee. Please wear comfortable shoes. Claire Taylor spoke about “An Amazing Day in Little Havana” event on Friday, Jan 12th. The tour conductor, Corinna Mobeius, is co-author of “The History of Little Havana”. The $69.00 pp includes transportation, tour and lunch. Sherry said that those going on her “Road Trip” should open e-mails from her and respond where necessary. Their accounts will be billed in January for the balance due. Claire said that our March 1st – March 5th, 2018 Royal Caribbean’s Independence of the Sea. The Cruise includes bus transportation, $70.00 per cabin ship board credit, a private cocktail party, other perks and terrific pricing. The next meeting is December 19th.
